Carlson Continues Expansion of Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM with the Opening of 14th location in Michigan

Minneapolis - July 2, 2013 - Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the world’s largest and most dynamic hotel groups, today announced the further expansion of the Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM brand in Michigan. The opening of Country Inn & Suites By Carlson, Traverse City, MI marks the brand’s growth in the region as part of its Ambition 2015 strategy.

“The brand is making strides in growing its footprint in Michigan,” said Scott Meyer, senior vice president, Midscale Brands, Americas. “The continued growth in this region is another step forward in our plan to expand the brand primarily in the U.S., Canada, India and Mexico.”

The hotel offers 176 guestrooms and suites. The property features amenities that include complimentary high-speed Internet, a well-equipped fitness center, a business center and a heated indoor pool. In addition, a complimentary USA Today newspaper is provided to guestrooms Monday thru Friday.

The hotel is located three miles from Cherry Capital Airport and provides a Park and Fly Stay Package. The hotel also features an outdoor picnic area with charcoal grills, boat parking and an outdoor playground. Daily bicycle rentals are available. The location of the hotel is ideal for taking advantage of local beaches, marinas and other entertainment events that Traverse City has to offer.
