Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) July 04, 2013 - Spring cleaning can be a stressful, time-consuming responsibility when we’re left to do it all ourselves. Now that we’re well into summer, you may realize you’ve still got a few tasks on that to-do list that need to be done. Those in the Toms River area who’ve wished for help around the house will have their wish granted on July 8th. Window Genie announces the grand opening of their newest location set for July 8th in Toms River, NJ. Dick Carlson and his team join Window Genie, the nationally ranked franchise of home services known to “Clean Windows and a Whole Lot More!” Other services include window tinting, pressure washing, gutter cleaningand more.

Before joining the Window Genie team, Carlson worked for a large health care system; as the CFO of his division for 7 years and then more recently the VP of Operations for retail pharmacy services. In January when his position was eliminated he initially looked for another similar job. Carlson was emailed by a job posting site asking if he was interested in franchising. He responded to inquire further and was contacted by three different franchise coaching groups. After speaking with each he decided to work with The YOU Network, specifically Mark Laughlin, franchise coach. “I liked Mark’s style,” Carlson said. “He really got to know me, my strengths, weaknesses and goals before presenting me with 10 potential franchises that he thought were a good fit. He made sure I was getting all the information I needed to make an informed decision with the next step in my life.”

Carlson knew he wanted to own a service oriented business, preferably one with lower overhead costs, not a lot of inventory and where he could create a loyal base of recurring customers. After cutting the list down to his final two, Window Genie being one of them, he looked much deeper into his options. “The idea of home services really enticed me. It seemed there would be good potential for success with offering multiple services, something for everybody,” he said.

Carlson visited the Window Genie headquarters in Cincinnati for a discovery day in late April to meet Founder and CEO, Rik Nonelle as well as the rest of the corporate team. “When I came for the discovery day I just loved the team. I’d gotten to know Rik over the phone so was excited to meet him in addition to his team. I liked the culture; it was more informal than the formality I was coming from in my last job. Window Genie’s atmosphere was inviting and fit my personality and the way I would like to run a business. The staff was honest and real, I just felt like asking myself why I would even waste my time looking into any other franchise.”

Ultimately Carlson chose to open a Window Genie franchise because he felt he was going to always be set up for success. “Always having support just a phone call away is huge. I had friends ask me why not just start my own business on my own, but it’ll be worth buying a franchise that comes with a team I can trust, established branding, a lot of the marketing load taken off of me and years of proven success to model my business after.”

Excited to open his doors for business on Monday, Carlson said, “My goal is to get out there and establish relationships with customers in this first year. I know there’s a need for my services so it’s just a matter of getting out there and proving that we’re the most professional, skilled and trustworthy window cleaning business in town.”
