Customers Vote on Best New Sandwich Entrees from three Sonny’s Pitmasters

Three top Sonny’s Real Pit Bar-B-Q® pitmasters are putting their considerable talents to the test in Sonny’s annual Pitmaster Showdown. The results are three mouth-watering sandwich entrees created especially for the competition.
The showdown winner will be decided by customers who vote for their favorite sandwich entree being featured at participating Sonny’s restaurants for a limited time only, ending August 25.
“Great barbecue is all about flavor and tradition coming together to create a memorable and satisfying dining experience,” said Brandon Manly, Sonny’s COO. “But it’s also about combining authentic barbecue staples to create great new taste sensations. These three featured sandwich entrees do just that.”
The Triple Threat starts with smoked turkey, pulled chicken and bacon. Add American cheese and BBQ ranch on the toasted bun, and you’ve got a masterpiece from Pitmaster Amy Frantz from Sonny’s Pensacola, Fla., franchise.
The Smokin’ Gun combines brisket, sausage, banana peppers, onions and sweet mustard BBQ sauce on a toasted bun that is sure to finish off even the most sizeable appetites. Pitmaster Wayne Lindsey from Sonny’s Panama City Beach, Fla., franchise is ready to reload when you are.
The Sweet Carolina borrows from Carolina tradition by stacking coleslaw on pulled pork with sweet mustard BBQ sauce on a toasted bun. The sweet creation comes from Pitmaster Melvin Dankins from Sonny’s Atlanta franchise.
But the real winners are Sonny’s customers who can enjoy the limited-time offer on the three sandwich entrees for $6.99 or $7.99. Customers are encouraged to vote on the Pitmaster Showdown website (http://www.pitmastershowdown.com/) for their favorite sandwich to be become a permanent menu item.* Those who vote for the eventual winning sandwich will receive a voucher for a free Big Deal Combo.
