ORADELL, NJ - (Marketwired - Jul 9, 2013) - Executives from Huntington Learning Centers recently joined more than 4,000 educators, administrators and school leaders at the 2013 National Charter Schools Conference in Washington, DC, facilitated by the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.
The 2013 National Charter Schools Conference theme was "Delivering on the Dream," and featured Arne Duncan, U.S. secretary of education, who delivered a keynote address. In his address, Duncan reflected on the growth of the charter movement, with more than 6,000 charter schools throughout the United States today, and praised high-performing charter schools for having "irrefutably demonstrated that low-income children can and do achieve at high levels." Duncan concluded his address by stating, "I look forward with great optimism and anticipation to what the next 20 years of the charter movement will bring."
"Huntington Learning Center has worked with many charter schools and supports the great work that they do," said Taryn Weitzman, senior director, Huntington Center Services and Huntington School Services, franchise operations. "It is inspiring to see the commitment these charter schools are making to educate our country's youth."
