Experienced Labor Lawyer Thomas Posey Joins Faegre Baker Daniels

July 10, 2013 // Franchising.com // Chicago - Thomas J. Posey has joined Faegre Baker Daniels LLP as a partner in the labor and employment group. He will practice from the law firm's Chicago office.

Posey brings more than 10 years of experience representing employers in a wide range of labor, employment and commercial matters as a negotiator, litigator and counselor. He has served as chief labor negotiator for hospitality, manufacturing, building trade, automotive and other industry clients in collective bargaining, and represents and counsels employers in a wide range of labor matters, including grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice proceedings and responding to union organizing campaigns. In addition, Posey frequently advises hospitality and real estate development companies with regard to labor issues related to the construction, purchase and sale of hotel and restaurant facilities and operations.

Posey also has extensive litigation and trial experience before arbitrators, state and federal judges and juries, and numerous administrative agencies, and has successfully argued several cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Before joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Posey was a partner at Franczek Radelet in Chicago, and also spent six months as the interim Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for one of his private sector clients during that company's national expansion.

Posey graduated from the Chicago-Kent College of Law with high honors in 2003. Prior to attending law school, he earned a master's degree and spent several years in the child protective services division of a national social service agency.
