Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers Opening in Herndon, Virginia, on Monday, July 22nd.

Vibrant colors, fresh baked pizza, ever changing craft beer selections and local art that taps into the history of Herndon.

July 16, 2013 // Franchising.com // Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers is proud to announce their newest opening in Herndon, Virginia, on Monday, July 22nd, located at 1030 Elden Street, conveniently located within the 267 Dulles Toll Road Corridor and just 22 miles from downtown Washington, DC.

The owners of this location, siblings Pooja and Amit Mehta, as well as Danny Trehan and Vance Rossell are thrilled to bring the Mellow Mushroom’s unique concept to Herndon: “This pre-Civil War town has many attractions, a great sense of community and a small town charm. Mellow will be a special addition to this wonderful town for many years to come,” states Pooja.

The menu features a variety of pizzas, hoagies, salads, calzones and appetizers. Options for vegetarians, vegans, kids and those on a gluten free plan are also available.

Mellow Mushroom focuses on local ownership and operation, believing that to be the best way to serve the customer and the local community and at the same time convey the culture of the brand. As part of this philosophy, every Mellow location hatches with a completely unique look and feel.

Continuing Mellow Mushroom’s belief in tremendous creativity and avid respect for local history and community, this Mellow is indeed unique. “This Mellow is filled with art that pays tribute to Herndon’s rail history. The art romanticizes the past but also shows respect for the future,” states Pooja.

The finishes are high end and modern, the colors are vibrant and the graffiti adds elements of grit and usefulness. Gaze at the 20 foot mural depicting a couple reminiscent of Casablanca’s Bogart and Bergman saying their goodbyes before the Mellow Express departs the station.

Along with great food and an exciting atmosphere, this Mellow features a full service bar, focusing on quality craft beer and specialty casual cocktails.
