Rhythm Time Music Franchise Group Wraps Up for The Big Bandage Campaign

July 17, 2013 // Franchising.com // Rhythm Time children's music franchise group has been wrapping themselves up in bandages to raise valuable funds as part of Birmingham Children's Hospital's ˜The Big Bandage" campaign.

Babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers enjoyed raising funds in their Solihull music classes last week with final donations likely to be nearly £300 for the Hospital.

Vanessa Campbell, who teaches some of Rhythm Time's music classes in Solihull said, "we really enjoyed taking part in this event, especially when it helps to raise funds for such an important cause. Birmingham Children's Hospital undertakes amazing and groundbreaking work and we're really proud that we can help them."

Michelle McLoughlin, Chief Nursing Officer at the hospital outlined why this fundraising was so important: "Last year, BCH treated over 250,000 children, children who need us to care for them through their broken wrists, holes in their heart, damaged kidneys, cancer and all sorts of illnesses," she said. "With the support of the charity, we aim to make sure that each one of these children, and their families, are provided with the comforts and specialist surroundings that mean their stay with us will be as easy as possible. From playrooms to parent beds and even building new specialist units, without this support, none of this would be possible," she added.

Rhythm Time's music franchise group, and in particular its local franchisees in the West Midlands area, have been loyal supporters of BCH for many years. Vicky Taramasco, franchise owner covering South Birmingham and North Worcestershire, was previously a Paediatric Oncology Nurse at the hospital prior to running Rhythm Time. Vicky and her staff have been working very closely with the Speech and Language Department at the hospital by bringing their fun music sessions to the patients who are admitted onto the wards. In fact, the benefits of music are now being promoted across many hospitals in the UK. Rhythm Time in Cheshire have also been working closely with their local hospitals by providing music sessions to young patients, particularly in the area of premature babies and the stimulating effect that music and massage can have on their development.
