Latest Zinga Frozen Yogurt Store Opens in Long Beach

Circle Center West Store Part of Plan to Extend Zinga Beyond L.A. into Orange County

Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2013 - The newest Zinga Frozen Yogurt store has opened in Long Beach’s Circle Center West by L.A. Zinga LLC, the area developer for Zinga in the Greater Los Angeles area. It is the second L.A. area store for franchisees and developers Mike Cochran and Rick Swisher whose first location in Culver City opened in December.

The Long Beach location struck a chord with the two franchisees who explained that frozen yogurt is often an impulse item. The new store is near California State University, Long Beach. Students are big consumers of frozen yogurt, Cochran said.

“We found a location we really liked with a very recognizable mix of tenants,” said Cochran, noting retail neighbors Jersey Mike’s Subs, Chipotle, In-N-Out Burger, Von’s and Marshalls, among others.

“When customers discover we rotate great frozen yogurt flavors, especially Greek yogurt now, they keep coming back,” said Cochran.

“Once most people try self-serve frozen yogurt they might never go back to ice cream, or to having an employee try to make their creation,” Cochran said, adding, “You can make it decadent with toppings like frozen cheesecake bites, mini peanut butter cups, crushed Oreos, hot fudge, chocolate chips -- or you can go healthy with non-fat yogurt topped with fresh fruit and nuts or granola.”

To complement a customer’s self-serve dessert Zinga offers fresh baked brownies, cakes and waffle bowls daily.

Nutritionists agree frozen yogurt is a healthier alternative to ice cream and Zinga offers a variety of fat free and low calorie frozen yogurt flavors and more than 50 toppings. All of Zinga’s flavors meet the National Yogurt Association’s criteria for “live and active culture yogurt.”

The new Zinga store is a “stepping stone” to Orange County where Cochran and Swisher plan their next Zinga store. The two are also recruiting other franchisees for expansion in the area with a goal of 61 stores in the next 10 years.

The two former Southern California Domino’s Pizza franchisees bring a combined more than 50 years of restaurant experience to the fast growing self-serve frozen yogurt concept in the U.S.

The new store is located at 1827 Ximeno Avenue, Long Beach, CA, 90815, in the Circle Center West, beside Jersey Mike’s. The store manager is Mike Kozlowski. Store hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday for those late-night cravings. Parking is convenient and free. Phone (562) 597-5555.

Frozen yogurt fans in the Los Angeles area can follow the Long Beach store’s daily flavor offerings, special offers, contests to win free frozen yogurt and other exciting news by “liking” the store’s Facebook page: Zinga – Long Beach.
