GNC Names Carmine Fortino as Executive Vice President, Business Development

Brings strong multi-channel experience in the natural products industry.

PITTSBURGH - July 29, 2013 // PRNewswire // - GNC Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GNC),the nation's largest specialty retailer of health, wellness and sports nutrition products, today announced that it has named Carmine Fortino as Executive Vice President, Business Development. Mr. Fortino comes to GNC with extensive experience in the natural products industry and was also a former Director of General Nutrition, Centers, Inc. from 2007-2011.Joseph Fortunato, GNC's Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer, said, "Carmine is a great addition to the GNC senior management team. Mr. Fortino is a seasoned executive with extensive high-level experience leading multi-brand, multi-channel environments augmented by a solid background in supply chain logistics.

Most recently, Mr. Fortino was President of North American operations for Atrium Innovations, Inc., a Canadian natural health products company. In that role, his focus was on directing and building strong brand positions within the Health Food Store, Health Care Professional and Direct to Consumer channels. He is also a former CEO of Seroyal International, Inc., a Toronto-based natural nutraceutical company.

Prior to that, Mr. Fortino held various management roles within Loblaw Companies Limited, including Executive Vice President of Ontario operations. Earlier, he served as Executive Vice President of Zehrmart Limited, an Ontario-based grocery chain owned by Loblaw Companies Limited.
