Jiffy Lube® Service Centers Nationwide Fight Back Against Muscle Disease this August

Second annual ‘Muscle Up?’ campaign to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association through in-store donations and Facebook activation.

Tucson, AZ (PRWEB) August 01, 2013 - Jiffy Lube service centers are fighting back against muscle disease this August and inviting drivers across the country to participate in the second annual "Muscle Up" campaign to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

From Aug. 1-Sept. 2, drivers who make a $3 donation to MDA through the “Muscle Up” campaign at Jiffy Lube service centers will receive a savings book containing more than $100 in Jiffy Lube savings.

“We’re pleased to announce Jiffy Lube as an MDA partner for a second year,” said MDA President and CEO Steven M. Derks. “We know that Jiffy Lube franchisees and drivers across the country are committed to raising funds through this campaign, which is vital in providing clinical care, support services and MDA summer camp for the families we serve. With the help of Jiffy Lube's generous franchisees, employees and customers, we will work together to fight back against muscle disease again this summer.”

The inaugural “Muscle Up” campaign in 2012 raised more than $1 million for MDA, and Jiffy Lube has set a goal to raise more than $1 million again this year to support individuals and families affected by muscle disease.

Additionally, to help extend the reach of the campaign, for each new fan who “Likes” the Jiffy Lube brand Facebook page between Aug. 1 and Sept. 2, Jiffy Lube will donate $1 to MDA (up to $10,000).

“We're excited about this year’s ‘Muscle Up’ campaign and raising the bar for exceeding last year's fundraising efforts that will help more than 1 million Americans affected by muscle disease,” said Jeffrey Lack, director of marketing of Jiffy Lube International. “We're extremely proud to have 100 percent participation from more than 2,000 franchise-owned Jiffy Lube service centers that will dedicate this month to helping MDA families 'Leave Worry Behind?.'"

The “Muscle Up” campaign emphasizes the parallels between the body’s muscles and a vehicle’s engine — both require care and maintenance to perform to their highest potential. The coupon book fundraiser is driven by the passionate support of Jiffy Lube franchisees who are deeply committed to giving back to their communities, as well as the drivers who look to Jiffy Lube for their vehicle’s preventive maintenance needs.
