DQ® Treat Store Opens in Pittsburgh

The Dairy Queen® System Brings Newest Treat Concept to the City

August 02, 2013 // Franchising.com // PITTSBURGH - The Dairy Queen® system always has been about sharing smiles and stories. Now the treat category leader and one of the leaders in quick service restaurants has opened its newest, most exciting treat concept, a DQ® Treat store in Pittsburgh. The location at Ross Park Mall offers all of the amazing Dairy Queen soft-serve treats and cakes as well as Orange Julius® products, including an array of fruit beverages and smoothies. Located at 1000 Ross Park Mall Drive within the food court, the 523 square-foot restaurant employs a staff of 20.

“I am thrilled about the opening of the DQ Treat store in Pittsburgh and am ready to serve our customers,” said new operator Claudea Sullivan. “The Dairy Queen system is the world-wide treat leader, and we’ve paired an innovative exciting design with a fabulous selection of cravable treats including all of the Dairy Queen and Orange Julius favorites. Our customers will love what we’re bringing to the Pittsburgh community.”

The DQ Treat store in Pittsburgh features DQ favorites, such as the iconic Blizzard® Treats, MooLatté® frozen coffee flavored beverages, DQ Cakes and a wide variety of other soft-serve items, as well as the full line of Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies and fruit-blended beverages.

Fans can choose from a variety of fruit-blended beverages including delicious Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies and now Orange Julius Light Smoothies. All Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies, Light Smoothies and Julius® Original drinks are available in eight flavors including Orange, Strawberry, Strawberry Banana, Tripleberry®, Mango Pineapple, Berry-Pom, OrangeBerry and Piña Colada, and protein or banana boosts can be added. The Orange Julius Premium Fruit Smoothies are made fresh to order with real fruit blended and low-fat yogurt. The Orange Julius Light Smoothies are 170 calories or less in a small size, contain no artificial sweeteners or flavors and are yogurt-free.

“We are looking to provide the Pittsburgh community with a great treat location, from that morning smoothie to the after-the-movie Blizzard Treat,” said Sullivan.
