Rose Peters Honored as 2013 Caregiver of the Year

Milwaukee resident, Rose Peters, was selected as Home Care Assistance’s 2013 Caregiver of the Year, outshining more than 4,000 other caregivers across North America.

Whitefish Bay, WI (PRWEB) August 12, 2013 - Home Care Assistance, North America's leading provider of in-home care, is proud to announce that Rose Peters of Home Care Assistance of Milwaukee is the recipient of the company’s 2013 Caregiver of the Year Award. The prestigious award is presented each year to the caregiver who best exemplifies Home Care Assistance’s values and core beliefs, embodying the company’s mission to change the way the world ages. Rose was honored at the Annual Convention held in Chicago this past week in front of an audience of more than 100 Home Care Assistance owners and operators. Her tremendous compassion for her clients, commitment to helping them regain a remarkable level of independence despite physical limitations, admirable professionalism and glowing client reviews set her apart from over 4,000 other caregivers across the network.

“God put an angel on this earth when Rose Peters was born,” said Rick Cohen, owner of Home Care Assistance of Milwaukee. “Not only does Rose treat her clients as if they are her own family members, but she takes their well-being to heart and helps them realize the level of independence they can still achieve. She understands how important it is for each client to maintain his or her own dignity and supports each individual’s efforts. She continues to go above and beyond what is expected of her.”

Rose has had a distinguished career at Home Care Assistance of Milwaukee since joining the company in October 2009. A recipient of the company’s Changing the Way the World Ages Award in 2012, she embodies compassion, understanding and creativity and truly enjoys caring for others. Her work with her first client, a Parkinson’s patient, was transformative; in just three months her once-bedbound client was able to walk the length of the airport terminal in Milwaukee to board a plane to live with her son, thanks to encouragement and support from Rose. Caring for a husband and wife with Alzheimer’s, Rose dropped them off at their business to enable them to keep busy with “work” and maintain a sense of purpose, while she did their grocery shopping and cleaned their home. She was also able to help the couple continue their tradition of Friday date night; she gave them their needed alone time but was always there to help them get seated and pay for their meal.

“Rose truly has a heart of gold,” said Cheri Rasmussen, Client Care Manager of Home Care Assistance of Milwaukee. “I thank God every day for people like her.”

The Caregiver of the Year Award Ceremony marked the end of the 2013 Home Care Assistance Annual Convention, where Home Care Assistance owners and corporate staff from across North America gathered to celebrate the company’s commitment to changing the way the world ages through high-caliber in-home care and community education resources. The convention featured speakers including Dr. George Watts, who provided a highly motivating keynote on personality types and how each impacts leadership and marketing styles.
