East Alton Woman Wins National J.D. Byrider Sweepstakes
Nationwide Used Car Franchise Gives Away Free Car in Celebration of Millionth Car Sale
August 21, 2013 // Franchising.com // CARMEL, Ind. – J.D. Byrider, the country’s leading used car sales and finance enterprise, announced the winner of their Million Car Sales Sweepstakes, which celebrates the milestone the company achieved in May. Barbara Starkey, of East Alton, Ill., won a 2010 Jeep Liberty after entering her name into the nationwide drawing at the Wood River, Ill., dealership. The dealership, which opened in 2011, is owned by franchisees and brothers Drew and Blake Johnson.
Starkey visited the Wood River dealership in April and entered her name in the store drawing with no expectation of winning. “I’m still in disbelief,” said Starkey. “I’m not one to get excited about materialistic things, so when they called to tell me I won, I really couldn’t process what they were saying. I’m very happy I won.” Starkey was one of more than 3,000 contestants nationwide who entered the sweepstakes from April to May.
Owners Drew and Blake Johnson joined Jim England, president of J.D. Byrider Advertising Group, Inc., to hand over the keys to Starkey’s new Jeep. “We are very excited that our dealership has the opportunity to provide Ms. Starkey a quality used car,” said Drew Johnson. “We hope to help even more people in the area get on the road with better cars, affordable payments and better car care.” Brother Blake added, “We’re glad to see that J.D. Byrider turned out to be ‘the way to go’ for yet another satisfied individual. We wish Ms. Starkey the best.”
“As a company, we are thrilled to celebrate selling our millionth vehicle across our dealership network,” said England. “Because of the dedication of our franchisees and dealership employees who help people like Ms. Starkey find a quality used car with financing that fits into her budget, we’ve been able to meet this mark and offer this prize. Their dedication is why we’re in our 25th year of business!”
Today, J.D. Byrider will also celebrate the opening of their 150th location in Albany, New York, another milestone amongst many in 2013. After selling its millionth vehicle in May, the company unveiled a refreshed branding and marketing concept, including a new interactive website allowing customers to find and choose their preferred car make and model at a local dealership. The company has also maintained a 95 percent sales satisfaction and 91 percent service satisfaction rating among customers nationwide.
