September 03, 2013 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection has today announced that it will exhibit at the Scottish Franchise Show for the first time this year. The exhibition which is held at the Glasgow Thistle Hotel, and the Edinburgh Marriott Hotel on the consecutive days of 19 and 20 September, will play host to more than 30 franchisors with fresh and proven business ideas for people considering starting their own franchised business.
Simon Hanna, senior franchise manager at Card Connection will be on-hand at the show along with Scottish franchisees. “We will be available to discuss the unique opportunity of becoming a Card Connection franchisee offers,” explains Hanna. “We currently have two, established, re-sale territories available in Scotland: Ayr/Kilmarnock and Dundee/Kirkcaldy which represent an exciting chance to join the leading brand in the greeting card franchise sector.
“We will also be displaying a range of Card Connection’s quality greeting cards to give potential franchisees a real feel for the products we supply to retailers,” continues Hanna. “We are very much looking forward to meeting people who are interested in running their own franchise and talking through the options with them on an informal basis.”
Franchisees place Card Connection’s greeting cards and accessories in retail outlets on a ‘consignment’ basis, also supplying the display equipment free on loan, minimising the retailers’ costs and maximising their profits. This is one step beyond ‘sale or return’ as retail customers don’t have to buy the stock initially; they only pay for what they sell. Card Connection’s award winning merchandising service provided to retailers has proved popular all over the UK and Ireland, giving franchisees an advantage over competitors.
Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business. Suitable candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, and depending on the size of the territory, they could be expected to employ a small team, operate a small warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.
Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £7k + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.
Territories currently available include: Dundee/Kirkcaldy and Ayr/Kilmarnock. For further information about franchises for sale, please see: www.card-connection.co.uk
Card Connection is one of the UK’s most successful card publishers and is the market leader in the franchised distribution of greeting cards.
The company was established in 1992 and became a Full Member of the British Franchise Association in 1995. It now distributes greeting cards to around 15,000 outlets through its network of 69 franchisees. www.card-connection.co.uk
