Arthur A. Cohen to Moderate Panel and Key NY Finance Forum

August 28, 2013 - NEW YORK – Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Arthur A. Cohen, co-chair of the firm’s Projects Practice Group, will moderate an important panel discussion on new airport projects at the Euromoney Seminars and Project Finance Magazine’s Annual North American Infrastructure and Energy Finance Forum.

Cohen’s panel, scheduled for Sept. 11 at the Westin New York at Times Square, is entitled “Blue skies ahead? Drawing from Deal Experience to Finance New Airport Projects” and will examine a pair of U.S. airport modernization projects in light of a case study of Puerto Rico’s Luiz Muñoz Marín Airport financing.

Panelists will be led by Cohen through a status report on the Midway airport procurement process and how that facility’s privatization compares to the Luiz Muñoz Marín project. The audience will also be updated on LaGuardia’s central terminal replacement.

“I think the discussion will be enlightening on many fronts,” said Cohen. “Each of these projects has unique aspects that our panelists are particularly well suited to explore in depth. This promises to be one of the event’s premier offerings.”

Appearing on the panel with Cohen will be Highstar Capital Partner Emmett McCann, Federal Aviation Administration Associate Administrator for Airports Christa Fornarotto, Southwest Airlines Senior Manager for Airport Affairs Pete Houghton, Austin Partners Managing Partner Thomas Murray and JetBlue Airways Director of Properties and Real Estate Kevin Costello.

Now in its eighth year, this Euromoney – Project Finance Magazine convocation is widely recognized as the key event in the calendar for the project finance community, bringing together leaders in infrastructure and energy finance to discuss latest industry developments and the innovative market strategies needed to get deals done.

Other topics to be discussed include:

  • How are infrastructure debt funds, pension funds and insurance companies offering long-term funding solutions for projects?
  • The search for yield: Will the market continue to see more leveraged deals with term -loan B in 2014?
  • Why have solar projects been more successful than wind projects in accessing the bond markets?
  • LNG terminals: Financing infrastructure for export

Registration can be made online at the Euromoney Seminars website.

Cohen has more than 25 years of experience doing complex corporate transactions, focusing on project financing, project development and mergers and acquisitions. He is a recognized leader in these fields and currently serves as vice-chair of the Project Finance Committee of the ABA's Business Law Section and was chair from 2007-2011.
