WOW Café American Grill & Wingery Opens Eight New Locations Across U.S.

New Orleans-Based Restaurant Chain Expands University Portfolio with Multiple Campus Openings

September 12, 2013 // Franchising.com // New Orleans, LA - WOW Café American Grill & Wingery (WOW) continues its aggressive nationwide growth with the opening of eight new campus locations. Back-to-School has gotten a lot better for college students and staff on campuses across the country with the addition of WOW to university dining. Locations can be found at Marymount University, Kennesaw State University, Georgia Regents University, Texas Lutheran University, West Virginia University, University of South Florida St. Petersburg, California State University Monterey Bay and University of Alabama Birmingham. All locations are currently open and operating just in time for the 2013 – 2014 school year.

“Expansion in the university sector is part of our overall non-traditional growth strategy,” says Ryan Stansbury, Franchise Development Director of WOW. “With these new locations, we currently operate 60 campus restaurants and plan to add 6 more by end of 2013.”

WOW campus restaurants showcase a QSR model with a menu catering to college students and staff “on-the-go.” The casual restaurant features a menu of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, fresh salads, as well as wings, tenders and 8 signature sauces. WOW also offers an array of healthier options, including entrée salads, fresh wraps, grilled options, lettuce wraps, and lighter side items. Additionally, all chicken is fresh, never frozen made with the highest quality ingredients.

This fall also marks the launch of WOW’s newly designed food truck. The first university to feature the new WOW food truck will be Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, AL. The truck will feature a select menu of burgers, wraps, tenders and wings and will operate for all major events throughout the entire campus.

WOW Café: American Grill & Wingery falls under the restaurant portfolio of Ballard Brands, which is co-owned by three brothers Paul, Scott and Steve Ballard.

Over the last year, WOW Café: American Grill & Wingery has seen extensive growth in the non-traditional market, expanding in universities across the country, as well as airports, hotels, malls, hospitals, and most recently, its first military base location at Camp Pendleton in California.
