Card Connection Names its Franchisees of the Year

September 17, 2013 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, which this year celebrates its 21st year in operation, has named its Franchisees of the Year as David & Di Tudor, franchisees for Hereford, Worcester and Stratford-upon-Avon area. The announcement was made at an awards ceremony at Card Connection’s annual franchisee conference, held at the Hellidon Lakes Hotel in Daventry last week.

Michael Johnson, managing director, Card Connection explains: "This year, we celebrated 21 years in business so we wanted to do something a little different for our annual franchisee conference. Our usual more formal presentations took place in the morning allowing time for some fun, afternoon activities including laser clay shooting, golf, bowling and darts! Everyone got involved and enjoyed the day which was topped off with our evening awards ceremony, a black tie dinner, where we revealed the names of our top performing franchisees.

"This year, we updated our judging criteria to include scores achieved in our Franchise Standards Reviews, Growth and Business Attitude and Aptitude," continues Johnson. "This allows us to look at not just the sales figures but how well the franchisees are approaching their entire franchise business. Dave and Di Tudor have shown outstanding ability and results in all these area and were delighted to award them the prize of £750 in recognition of their continued efforts."

Dave and Di Tudor also took the regional title for South West, South Wales & Central while other franchisees presented with awards during the evening included regional winners: Paul Du Toit, North East & Midlands, Richard and Sue Webb, South East, London & Anglia, Tony Lees, Ireland and Andrew Orr, Scotland. In addition, Paul Du Toit won the Heidi Sulley Commemorative Cup which is a special award recognising tenacity and team spirit within the network.

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business. Suitable candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, and depending on the size of the territory, they could be expected to employ a small team, operate a small warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £7k + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.

Territories currently available include: Southend-on-Sea, Manchester, Cardiff, Southport/Wigan, Macclesfield/Buxton, Dundee/Kirkcaldy and Ayr/Kilmarnock. For further information about franchises for sale, please see: www.card-connection.co.uk
