TCC Hotels Group & IHG to Open Holiday Inn Express in Bangkok's Sathorn District

IHG with TCC Hotels Group

September 17, 2013 // Franchising.com // Bangkok - Leading Thai conglomerate TCC Hotels Group and InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, have signed an agreement for the Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Sathorn. It will be the first of the Holiday Inn Express brand to be owned by TCC Hotels Group, who also own InterContinental and Crowne Plaza hotels under IHG’s brand portfolio.

Located in Bangkok’s up-and-coming district of Sathorn, which is in the centre of the central business district and diplomatic area, the newly-built 184-room hotel will be near numerous embassies and major multinationals. With location being a key hallmark of the Holiday Inn Express brand, the hotel will also be within walking distance to the Chongnonsri BTS station in the Sathorn district, providing travellers with ease of access to nearby attractions, including Asiatique The Riverfront and the night markets of Patpong.

Designed specifically for the discerning value-conscious traveller, the select service hotel includes a meeting room, fitness centre, and Great Room where guests can enjoy free Express Start or “Grab & Go” breakfasts before starting their day.

At the official signing ceremony between the two companies, Clarence Tan, Chief Operating Officer, South East Asia & Resorts, IHG said: “We are thrilled to build on our longstanding partnership with TCC Hotels Group. TCC Hotels Group currently owns five IHG properties across the region, including InterContinental Singapore, InterContinental Adelaide in Australia, ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe in Japan, and the Crowne Plaza Kunming City Centre and Holiday Inn Kunming City Centre in China. This latest addition, Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Sathorn, marks the group’s first Holiday Inn Express.

IHG currently manages two other newly-built Holiday Inn Express hotels in Thailand, Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Siam and Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central, which were both launched last year.

Holiday Inn Express Bangkok Sukhumvit 11, which is currently under development, is slated to open in 2014.
