Hyatt Ranks #79 on 2013 InformationWeek 500

Hyatt recognized as one of the most technologically innovative companies for its Group Bill tool.

CHICAGO (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 - Hyatt today announced that it ranked 79th on this year’s InformationWeek 500, a list of the top technology innovators in the U.S. Hyatt has been recognized for the implementation of its industry-first Group Bill technology, a real time billing and tracking system developed with planners input and needs in mind. Last year, Hyatt ranked 25th on the InformationWeek 500 list for its use of iPads and tablets across its U.S. hospitality operations.

“Hyatt’s Group Bill platform is aligned with Hyatt’s culture of technology and innovation because its purpose is to simplify the group billing process and give valuable time back to meeting planners and associates,” said Brett Cowell, vice president, application development, information technology for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. “Group business is a key component for Hyatt-branded hotels and resorts in North America, and with Group Bill, we created a tool to better service our meeting planners’ needs, while also finding a way to differentiate ourselves in the group market. To date, Hyatt customers are delighted with the technology, its ease of use, and most importantly, time saved. The deployment of Group Bill furthers underscores our commitment to becoming the most preferred hospitality company through technology and innovation to enhance our customers’ and guests’ experiences.”

Hyatt’s Group Bill platform allows meeting planners to track and reconcile costs daily from the comfort of their own computer or workspace. The interactive PDF offers planners a table of contents, general summaries with hyperlinks back to the original charge, distinguishing colors, extra white space to ease eyestrain, multiple levels of billing detail, and a reduction in desk cluttering paper work. Hyatt’s Group Bill technology is an added benefit to the Hyatt Meetings Networks, and is yet another example of how Hyatt drives to deliver the most options and time saving tools for meeting planners and customers.

“The theme of this year’s InformationWeek 500 is digital business. It is a movement, rooted in data analytics, mobile computing, social networking and other customer-focused technologies that are turning companies and industries on their ear,” said Rob Preston, editor-in-chief for InformationWeek. “Every enterprise is now a digital business – or needs to become one fast. The companies in our ranking are leading the way.”

InformationWeek identifies and honors the nation's most innovative users of information technology with its annual InformationWeek 500 listing, and also tracks the technology, strategies, investments, and administrative practices of some of the best-known organizations in the country. Past overall winners include Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, PACCAR Inc., The Vanguard Group, CME Group, National Semiconductor, Con-Way, and Principal Financial Group. Unique among corporate rankings, the InformationWeek 500 spotlights the power of innovation in information technology.
