Roetzel Partner Joel D. Mayersohn Joins the Corporate Council of Take Stock in Children of Broward County

September 25, 2013 // Franchising.com // Roetzel is pleased to announce that Take Stock in Children of Broward County has appointed partner Joel D. Mayersohn to its Corporate Council.

Take Stock in Children selects students in grades 6 through 9 who are eligible for free or reduced lunch for its scholarship program. Committees comprised of educators, civic leaders and business sponsors from their own communities select students for participation. Upon selection, scholars and their parents/guardians sign a contract agreeing to stay in school, maintain good grades, exhibit good behavior, remain crime and drug free, meet with their mentors once a week and attend Take Stock workshops and events. Students are held accountable; if they violate their contracts, they will lose their scholarships. To ensure that financial resources are available after high school graduation, each scholar is assigned a Florida college tuition scholarship in his or her name to be awarded upon successful completion of the Take Stock in Children program.

Mr. Mayersohn specializes in corporate, securities and business law. He advises a diversified client base in private placement, public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions and general securities, as well as corporate law matters. He also has experience in venture capital, going private transactions, bridge loans and pipe financings.

Mr. Mayersohn earned his J.D. from The State University of New York at Buffalo, School of Law and his B.A. from The State University of New York at Buffalo. He is licensed to practice law in both Florida and New York.
