The Pizza Studio To Debut In The Midwest

Growing Pizza Franchise to Open 10+ Locations with same group that opened Freebirds World Burrito in Kansas City.

September 30, 2013 // Franchising.com // LOS ANGELES, CA - Los Angeles-based fast-casual restaurant chain, The Pizza Studio, announced the signing of a multi-unit franchise agreement with PS Midwest Development, LLC, a BRICK Restaurant Group managed company. BRICK Restaurant Group also manages the rapidly growing Freebirds World Burrito franchise locations across Kansas & Missouri. BRICK has plans to open Pizza Studio locations across the Kansas City market area & will eventually move into regions of Oklahoma & Arkansas. The first restaurant is expected to open in early 2014 in Kansas. PS Midwest expects to open at least 20 restaurants.

BRICK Restaurant Group chose The Pizza Studio to expand its portfolio because of its impressive business model which is built upon speed, simplicity, consistency & quality.

The Pizza Studio is a fast-casual franchise concept that invites guests to create their own custom pizza masterpiece much like the Freebirds concept in that a customer actually chooses from an array of items. It offers guests a wide assortment of crusts, specialty sauces, premium meats, fresh and roasted vegetables and the highest quality ingredients at affordable prices. The company is known for its variety of flavors of their proprietary thin, light and crispy crusts which were a year in development, with unlimited toppings of sauces, cheeses, nitrate-free meats and fresh-cut and roasted vegetables for each custom-built pizza creation.

The Pizza Studio is committed to the neighborhood community & proudly supports local artists by providing a venue to display & sell their art commission free. The restaurant also plays an active role in fighting hunger by donating a free meal for every $20 spent at the restaurant.

BRICK Restaurant Group is operated by Bryce Katz, COO and partner with a group of well-known Kansas City and Wichita investors. Bryce is also the COO & Director of Operations for FB Midwest Development, LLC, the first franchise of Freebirds World Burrito. FB Midwest Development currently has seven Freebirds locations open in KS & MO & has plans for approximately 20 more. PS Midwest will draw from the experience and operating personnel of FB Midwest under the operating agreement.

The Pizza Studio was founded in 2012 by Samit Varma and Ron Biskin. After a successful military career, Varma became a partner at Anthem Venture Partners, a California-based venture capital firm. Biskin has enjoyed a long career in the franchised restaurant segment with companies such as TGI Fridays, Burger King, Baja Fresh and Wolfgang Puck.
