Fairfield County Home Care Entrepreneur Honored as Franchisee of the Year

Cathy Howard, owner of Griswold Home Care for 22 years, recognized by International Franchise Association for helping thousands of local clients age at home.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - Oct. 1, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ - On Monday, September 16th, Cathy Howard, owner of the Fairfield County, Connecticut Griswold Home Care offices, was honored with the International Franchise Association (IFA) Franchisee of the Year Award. Cathy was recognized during the IFA's 14th Annual Public Affairs Conference in Washington D.C. for her outstanding performance and contributions she has made to enhance the growth and development of franchising.

Cathy Howard was selected for the award for many reasons. She has been tremendously successful ever since she opened her offices in 1991, serving thousands of clients in her territory. Her knowledge, dedication and passion for the business, as well as her devotion to helping people remain independent at home, have all contributed to her success. Cathy is the number one franchisee in the company in terms of revenue and credits her success to the consistent dedication of the caregivers she refers and office staff.

Cathy has always been a leader in client satisfaction and quality, and is very involved in the day to day operations of not only her offices, but the company as a whole. She has demonstrated this commitment over the past four years that she has served as part of the Griswold Home Care Franchise Advisory Council and by sitting on the Board of Directors of the Griswold Cares Foundation, a private charity that provides grants that help older adults receive the care that they could not otherwise afford on their own.

The Stratford VNA is a non-profit skilled nursing agency, which is responsible for all aspects of preventative and restorative community health services.

The Franchisee of the Year Award is a major component of the IFA's Public Affairs Conference, which brings more than 400 franchise business leaders together. During the event, franchise industry leaders meet with over 200 congressional offices about important issues concerning the future of franchising. This conference helps further advance the IFA's advocacy efforts, and helps increase awareness about how franchising can contribute to economic recovery and job growth.
