Gray Plant Mooty Adds Four New Attorneys to the Firm

MINNEAPOLIS (October 3, 2013) — Gray Plant Mooty is pleased to announce that Kate Bischoff, Karli Peterson, Erin Stein, and Betsy Whitlatch have joined our team of experienced and talented attorneys in our Minneapolis and St. Cloud offices.

Bischoff joins the Employment & Labor practice group in Minneapolis as a special counsel attorney. She provides advice and counsel to management and human resources professionals on employment and labor law, and litigation strategy. She comes to Gray Plant Mooty with private practice and government experience, including serving as human resources officer for the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Embassy Lusaka in Zambia and for the U.S. Consulate General Jerusalem.

Peterson joins Gray Plant Mooty’s Minneapolis office as an associate in the Franchise & Distribution practice group. Her practice covers a wide variety of subject matters, including start-up franchisors, franchise registration work and advising, and technology. Prior to joining as an associate, Karli clerked with the franchise transactions group in early 2013 and served as a summer associate in 2012. Karli earned her J.D. from the William Mitchell College of Law in 2013.

Stein, who returns to Gray Plant Mooty as a special counsel attorney in the Health & Nonprofit Organization practice group, previously served as an associate in the Franchise & Distribution and Litigation practice groups. Erin provides advice to a range of nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations. She counsels nonprofits on issues related to corporate governance, formation, tax exemption, private foundation issues, enterprise, regulatory matters, mergers, and joint ventures. She rejoins Gray Plant Mooty after most recently serving as the managing director of alumni giving for Teach for America, of which Erin is also a corps alumna. Erin also serves on the Board of Directors for West Side Summit, a charter school in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Whitlatch joins the Trust, Estate, & Charitable Planning practice group as an associate, practicing out of both the Minneapolis and St. Cloud offices.
