The Learning Experience® Honored with "Corporation of the Year" Award at Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida’s Annual Donor Event

National Early Learning Franchise is Recognized for its Corporate Responsibility & Philanthropic Initatives Totalling +$500,000

October 16, 2013 // Franchising.com // Boca Raton, FL – The Learning Experience® (TLE®), the country’s fastest growing early learning academy franchise for children six weeks to six years old, was honored with Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida’s "Corporation of the Year" award on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the nonprofit’s Annual Donor Celebration which took place at Parrot Jungle in Miami. Over the past year, TLE®'s commitment to the importance of "giving" has resulted in more than half of a million dollars raised for Make-A-Wish®.

With the assistance of Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida, TLE® recently implemented the first nationwide curriculum to teach philanthropy to preschoolers. Through this philanthropy curriculum, TLE® introduces and instills in children the value of selflessness and giving at an early age, with the hope that those values stay with them throughout their development from child to adulthood.

"The honor of being recognized by Make-A-Wish® as its Corporation of the Year is one that strikes a special cord with the entire TLE® enterprise. Our partnership with the foundation has reassured us of the importance of maintaining corporate social responsibility and reinforcing core values to our students through our philanthropy curriculum," said Mr. Richard Weissman, TLE® President. "As a national leader in preschool education, we see first-hand the importance of teaching critical lessons to children, and our belief is that the values of selflessness, generosity, and giving as well as the power to affect societal change can start at the earliest of learning stages."

As part of the philanthropic-focused curriculum, preschoolers meet TLE®’s newest characters: Grace The Greyhound? and Charity Chihuahua?. Although vastly different in size and stature, these loveable and huggable dogs help to teach children that it is not how big or small you are, it is the size of your heart that matters. Through animation, classroom activities and participatory songs, Grace and Charity introduce children to topics like the value of helping others, volunteering and donating. In addition to learning from Grace and Charity, children also participate in charitable events to further effect change first-hand.

With 198 locations nationwide, including 120 fully operational centers in 17 states and the remaining 78 under various stages of development, TLE® is the fastest growing preschool in the nation. A family-run business, TLE® founders have over 30 years of experience including the success and ultimate sale of TutorTime. The keen understanding of how business, real estate, and proprietary education interact sets them apart when dealing with franchisees and early education business matters.
