Mellow Mushroom Introduces a Limited Time Menu, 'Bootleg Bacon Fest' through November 23rd

From Bubba's Bacon Bonanza to a gigantic Cuban style sandwich called The Doublewide, you'll need to come prepared to leave completely stuffed. So grab your whole gang and squeeze into a booth as soon as possible. #mellowbacon

October 17, 2013 // // Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers announces Bootleg Bacon Fest, a limited time menu available now through November 23rd. Introducing an extensive assortment of bold flavors, these bacon and pork-centered dishes, on this menu is so good it will make one go hog wild. In addition, 10% of proceeds from the three Denver area Mellows will benefit the state of Colorado in their flood relief efforts.

"We wanted to offer Mellow fans a new flavor experience to kick off the fall season," states Annica Kreider, VP of Brand Development. "Our two new artisan cocktails will also offer guests trendy new takes on traditional bourbon and rum drinks, both created to perfectly complement the comforting flavors of the fall and our bacon-inspired menu."

This unique menu features one new munchie and hoagie, three new specialty pizzas and new cocktail and beer items, along with a new dessert, all using the traditional high quality ingredients Mellow Mushroom provides every day. Below are the delicious new dishes available now only at Mellow Mushroom.

  • Don't Mind If I Dip: Served warm, this is a spicy, delicious dip made with a zesty cream base flavored with crumbled Italian sausage, artichoke hearts, tomatoes, caramelized onions and MontAmoré cheese, gratinéed and garnished with sliced pepperoncini's and served with pita crisps.
  • Wake-n-Bacon: Rise 'n' shine With this unique pie made with Mellow's incredible one-of-a-kind dough with an olive oil and garlic base, topped with roasted fresh asparagus, Applewood smoked bacon, a roasted fresh mushroom trio (shiitake, button and Portobello mushrooms), mozzarella and MontAmoré cheeses, and whole fresh eggs, garnished with salt, pepper and fresh chives.
  • Bubba's Bacon Bonanza: Mellow's signature dough with an olive oil and garlic base, topped with Applewood smoked bacon, honey-glazed ham, pulled pork, mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, and caramelized onions, all garnished with a drizzle of BBQ sauce, fresh cilantro and housemade pickled red onions.
  • The BLT Buckle: This BLT-style pizza is made with Mellow's signature dough and topped with rich garlic aioli, crumbled Applewood smoked bacon, mozzarella and MontAmoré cheeses. Then, it's made even tastier with romaine ribbons, diced tomatoes and more strips of Applewood smoked bacon. The
  • Doublewide: A Cuban style sandwich this big can only be called "The Doublewide." Made with pulled pork, crispy Applewood smoked bacon, sliced honey glazed ham, mozzarella and MontAmoré cheeses, topped with house made pickled red onions and cucumbers, and creamy dijonnaise on a fresh French roll.
  • Family Feud: This dessert is so tasty it's sure to cause a spat or two. Our advice: share. Made with smashed Oreo® cookies, vanilla bean mousse and fresh bananas— all topped off with chocolate sauce.

In addition to the new menu items, the Mellow bar is offering two unique new additions to the beverage menu to compliment these flavors. In keeping with the flavors of fall theme, try the Red Bourbon Barrel made with Maker's Mark® bourbon, maple syrup and fresh citrus layered with Gnarly Head Merlot. The Call Me Pumpkin Features Sailor Jerry™ rum, flavorful Monin pumpkin spice, fresh agave sour mix and our own Mellow meringue with a garnish of cinnamon sugar on the glass rim, this cocktail is sweet, nice and full o' spice.
