October 22, 2013 // Franchising.com // CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Salsarita’s Fresh Cantina is thrilled to announce the launch of its Caring Cantina by donating 100 percent of taco sales from its 11 area locations to Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center, as part of the new year-long partnership with the organization.
"We created Caring Cantina to help fight homeless, because everyone deserves to have the comfort of a good meal and a roof overhead – especially our neighbors served by Urban Ministry Center," said Yanira Castro, Salsarita’s Director of Marketing. "We believe that too many people in our community have no place to call home or feel welcome, so it was a natural fit to offer assistance to such a wonderful organization."
Salsarita’s kicked off its partnership with Urban Ministry Center this fall after a tour of the facility and a meeting with Executive Director Dale Mullennix. In the coming year, Salsarita’s will lend support to the center in a number of ways, including volunteering, donating food and serving as an emergency resource partner.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with Salsarita’s Caring Cantina because they help support our mission of bring the community together to end homelessness, one life at a time," said Mullennix. "We hope everyone in this community will bring their friends and families to Salsarita’s on October 28 to eat tacos and help us help this worth cause in the process."
