Wingstop’s Strong Growth Continues in the Third Quarter

National Ranking, New Restaurant Openings, Sales Increases Highlight Period

October 29, 2013 // // RICHARDSON, Texas – Wingstop served up another strong quarter, opening 16 restaurants and generating an 8.6 percent increase in same store sales from July through September. For the year, Wingstop’s same store sales growth is 10.6 percent.

So far in 2013, Wingstop restaurants have produced $457 million in worldwide sales, a 27 percent increase over 2012. In addition to strong sales, Wingstop announced 20 new development deals in the third quarter while opening new restaurants in Northern Virginia, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, California, Oregon and Texas.

"The performance of our restaurants in the third quarter is a testament to the strength of the Wingstop concept," said Charlie Morrison, Wingstop president and CEO. "As we look ahead to 2014, we are confident that we are perfectly aligned to solidify our position as the "The Wing Experts" not only in the U.S., but worldwide."

Wingstop is on track to finish the year with 65 new U.S. locations, and has significantly expanded its presence in the Northeast and Southeast. Wingstop is well on the way to reaching its goal of 1,000 locations in five years. In addition, international agreements in Russia, Singapore, and Mexico will add to more than 590 locations worldwide.

Recently, Wingstop was ranked among the nation’s "Top 200 Franchise Systems" in the U.S. by Franchise Times magazine, which measured the largest U.S. franchises by sales volume. Wingstop was also named to the Top 20 on the Fast Casual Movers & Shakers 2013 list and to the QSR Top 50 list for the first time.
