HUMAN Healthy Vending Wins Several School District Accounts, Lands 60+ School Machine Contracts in Past 120 Days

HUMAN Healthy Vending has landed several school district contracts for healthy vending machine services in the past 120 days, including Houston Independent School District in Houston, Texas; Polk County Public School District in Florida; and St. Johns County School District in Florida. Within this time frame, HUMAN has secured more than 60 machine placements for school locations.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) October 29, 2013 - HUMAN Healthy Vending, the nation’s fastest-growing socially-responsible healthy vending franchise, has landed several school district contracts for healthy vending machine services in the past 120 days, including Houston Independent School District in Houston, Texas; Polk County Public School District in Florida; and St. Johns County School District in Florida.

In August of this year, HUMAN Healthy Vending was one of four vendors to be approved by the Houston Independent School District’s RFP process to provide healthy vending services. Doing business as "Houston Healthy Vending," franchisees Corban Bates, a military veteran and Captain with the 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood, and Shelley Levine, a fitness coach and mother to five, have recently secured a machine placement with Austin High School through this RFP. Bates and Levine have several other machines located throughout the Houston area.

In June of this year, HUMAN Healthy Vending franchisee Dr. Nathan Hill, an orthopedic surgeon, secured contracts with 13 schools within the Polk County Public School District in Florida.

Also in June, HUMAN secured eight machine contracts within St. Johns County School District, in Florida. Justin and Michelle Ferensic are the healthy vending franchisees servicing this area and are doing business as "Health Fare LLC."

"My family lives in Saint Johns County and my son and business partner, Justin Ferensic, attended Bartram Trail High School. We love this community and are excited to be able to provide this service in Saint Johns County," said Michelle Ferensic. "Our goal is to provide a vending service experience unlike any other, offering healthy snacks for students in our state-of-the-art vending machines."

Other notable school districts that have partnered with HUMAN Healthy Vending this year include the Austin Independent School District where franchisee Clint Capps currently has 18 healthy vending machines spread across 11 high schools.

"I'm extremely excited to bring HUMAN Healthy Vending to the Austin area. Austin is such a health conscious city and one thing that is missing is convenient access to the healthy snacks and drinks that Austinites have come to love and appreciate," said Capps. "Because of this, I hope to change the vending culture in Austin and alter what we expect out of our local vending machines."

Additionally, HUMAN Healthy Vending franchisees Zach Dirks and Trevor Hawley have placed healthy vending machines at six schools within the Fremont School District. Dirks recently accepted the award of "Franchisee of the Year" from the International Franchise Association.

Sarah Smoot, principal of Irvington High School, which is within the Fremont School District and has four healthy vending machines, said, "I feel as though the vendor cares about my school and that is very important to me. I genuinely believe that the company is trying to help us have more profit so that we can do what we need to do here and that’s just really important."

HUMAN Healthy Vending is the Fremont School District's exclusive healthy vending provider. "The commissions from before [HUMAN] were pretty inconsistent. Now, it’s over doubled. This year, I’ve been able to donate pieces of that money to programs that have difficulty fundraising," said Smoot.

The above school districts are among numerous other school districts across the country that are getting an early start on meeting the USDA’s new federal competitive foods standards, called "Smart Snacks In School," which go into effect next July.
