Massage Envy Spa Awards $500 Scholarship to Local Resident Pursuing Career in Esthetics

Mount Airy Resident, Kristina Willner, Recognized for Enthusiasm and Commitment

MOUNT AIRY, Md. - November 01, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Massage Envy Spa, the pioneer and national leader of professional, convenient and affordable massage and spa services, has announced the latest recipient of its Massage Envy Scholarship Program. Kristina Willner is a recent graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage’s Steiner Institute of Esthetics and is the Program’s inaugural esthetician recipient. Willner plans to use the $500 scholarship to acquire her Maryland State Esthetician license.

"All of us at Massage Envy Spa are thrilled to be awarding this scholarship to an up-and-coming professional," says Winston Moore, Regional Director of Therapist Development at Massage Envy Spa. "This [scholarship] program gives reassurance and assistance to those just starting to make their way into the industry. We are proud of our partnership with BSOM and we look forward to providing opportunities for their students for years to come."

Willner was selected to receive the scholarship after completing seven and a half months of esthetics courses at the Baltimore School of Massage. The Massage Envy Scholarship program requires that students maintain a GPA of 3.5 and 95 percent class attendance, along with submitting a written essay or video message. The winner is selected by a panel of Massage Envy Spa franchise owners who evaluate each application.

Throughout her training Willner remained focused and dedicated to achieving the highest standards, while exploring future career options and raising her 8 year old daughter. She found inspiration through first-hand experience with esthetics and hopes to provide relaxation, beauty and joy to her future clients.

"People are rightfully hesitant to make a career change later in life, but the future of my family, our well-being and happiness take precedence," says Willner. "I am thrilled to receive this award. It further motivates me to help others and I am excited for a future full of exciting new adventures."
