Miracle-Ear Enhances Quality of Life for Gloversville Resident

Miracle-Ear Foundation partners with Miracle-Ear of Johnstown to donate hearing aids.

Johnstown, NY (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 - Miracle-Ear® of Johnstown, a part of locally owned Frasier Enterprises, partnered with the Miracle-Ear Foundation to provide, Kitty, the gift of sound.

Kitty, local resident, had worn hearing aids for many years, however the fit was not correct so they were constantly falling out and the sound quality was very poor. As a hospital employee, she had difficulties understanding her peers and conversations were kept to a minimum. She recalls times where she missed requests from patients because she couldn’t clearly understand and that resulted in costly mistakes. At home, Kitty’s family would get frustrated because they always had to repeat themselves and speak up. Her hearing loss was straining both her hospital and personal life.

That’s when Kitty decided to get her hearing reassessed with her local Miracle-Ear Center. The hearing test confirmed she had a hearing loss in both ears and hearing aids were a viable solution. However, hearing aids were beyond her budget. Nicole Stock, Johnstown Miracle-Ear, Hearing Instrument Specialist, encouraged her to apply to the Miracle-Ear Foundation. Nicole helped her with the application and submitted it to the Foundation. Upon approval, Kitty was fit with hearing aids and gifted life-time aftercare.

Local Frasier Enterprises business owner, Rick Frasier and his business partners have made a commitment to support the Miracle-Ear Foundation, a Minneapolis-based non-profit organization, which supports underserved adults and children with their hearing healthcare needs. In addition to supporting individuals throughout their 200 nationwide stores, in August Frasier Enterprises hosted an annual golf event to raise awareness for the Foundation, which resulted in over $10,000 in donations.

"The Miracle-Ear Foundation’s ability to provide hearing aids to underserved community residents is truly life changing," said Stock. "And it is a very rewarding feeling to give the gift of sound to someone like Kitty, who couldn’t believe the difference in wearing her new Miracle-Ear hearing aids compared to her 9 year old aids."

"The donation of hearing aids from the Miracle-Ear Foundation has given me the ability to interact with the world around me. I can now talk to people while I walk and exercise, watch TV and hear it, and easily make new friends," said Kitty. "And best of all I can now understand my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren!"

Frasier Enterprises has supported adults and children in Johnstown for many years, providing hearing aids to those in need. "We’re proud to support better hearing in our community," said Frasier. "When given the chance to improve lives through the gift of sound, we want to ensure every Johnstown resident has the opportunity."

The Miracle-Ear Foundation, working with Miracle-Ear centers across the country, has donated more than 6,500 hearing aids to over 4,100 individuals nationwide, including the aids donated to Kitty.
