Steamatic of Kansas City Cleans Air Ducts at Harry S. Truman Presidential Library

November 19, 2013 // Franchising.com // Kansas City, MO – They say Harry S. Truman ran a "clean" office – but not any cleaner than when Steamatic of Kansas City cleaned the air ducts at the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library.

"We were extra careful with the oval office," said Bill Chastain, the franchise’s owner. "We wanted to preserve the historic exhibits, such as President Truman’s desk and other priceless artifacts."

Located in Independence, MO, the library’s 100,000 square feet was dedicated in 1957. The 10-week cleaning project took two men to do and cost the library almost $80,000. As part of the job, Steamatic applied a new surface to the ducts that were lined with fiberglass. Although Steamatic offers a full range of cleaning and restoration services, this job only included air duct cleaning.

"It was an honor to work in the Presidential Library because we were entrusted with preserving history," said Chastain. "That is a responsibility that we take very seriously."

The job was completed on time and to the complete satisfaction of the Truman library staff.

"The Administrator of the Truman Library and the maintenance department staff were very pleased and complimentary of our thorough and trouble-free service," said Chastain.
