Rapid Realty NYC Opens First Boston Area Franchise

Award-Winning Real Estate Brokerage Expands Its Rental Expertise to New Market

CAMBRIDGE, MA - November 2, 2013 – Rapid Realty NYC, New York’s largest rental-based real estate firm, celebrated the grand opening of its first franchise in Massachusetts. This new office, located at 25 River Street, Ste. 2 in Cambridge, is the latest in Rapid Realty’s national expansion, coming just a month after the opening of the company’s first California office in San Diego.

Rapid Realty CEO Anthony Lolli, COO Carlos Angelucci, and numerous franchisees, agents, and brokers from the company’s New York offices made the trip up to Cambridge to cheer on the new office. The event featured a ceremonial ribbon cutting, as well as an after-party at nearby Tavern in the Square. In the spirit of Halloween, the grand opening was also a costume party, with guests dressed as everything from scientists to super heroes. Lolli himself was dressed as Prince Charming, as seen in the Disney film Cinderella.

"It was a great night," Lolli said. "We were all excited to be welcoming this new office to the Rapid Realty family and to be diving into the incredibly vibrant Boston rental market. And between Halloween festivities and the Red Sox clinching their historic World Series win at Fenway on Wednesday, it felt like the whole city was celebrating with us."

The new franchise is owned by brothers Michael and Timothy Tierney, Boston natives whose previous business experience includes running a successful family-owned insurance agency. The Tierney brothers traveled to New York to train extensively under veteran Rapid Realty franchisees as part of their preparations for their own Rapid office.

In addition to marking Rapid Realty’s entry into a new market, this latest office is also remarkable for being the first franchise outside New York to be established by one of the company’s area developers. Raymond Ruiz, who owns and operates multiple Rapid Realty franchises in Brooklyn himself, was responsible for giving the firm its first foothold in the Boston area.

"Rapid Realty is only in its fourth year of franchising," Lolli said. "For a franchise to even have multi-unit owners at this stage is exceptionally rare, let alone to have an area developer program that has already proven successful. It just goes to show how the Rapid Realty concept is changing the face of the real estate industry."

The grand opening of offices in Cambridge and San Diego have been just two highlights in what has already been a busy autumn for Rapid Realty. In October, Lolli was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Golden Bridge Awards, and received the Silver Stevie in the Real Estate Executive of the Year category of the International Business Awards. On November 25, Rapid Realty will be among the first companies honored by SmartCEO New York’s Future 50 Awards, recognizing the fastest-growing businesses in the New York region.
