DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Opens Following Multi-Million Dollar Transformation

Convenient Airport Location and Upscale Services and Amenities Position Hotel to Become a Leading Destination for Business and Leisure Guests in Salt Lake City

SALT LAKE CITY and MCLEAN, Va. - November 18, 2013 - DoubleTree by Hilton today announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport, a modern, lakeside hotel located two miles from Salt Lake City International Airport. The 288-room hotel opens following a $5.3 million property-wide renovation to update guest rooms and public spaces with new furnishings and design throughout. Formerly the Hilton Salt Lake City Airport, the hotel remains part of the Hilton Worldwide portfolio under the leadership of new owner and operator, Aimbridge Hospitality and now will greet guests with an oven-baked chocolate chip cookie, a welcoming gesture known around the world as the signature of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand.

"The reflagging to a DoubleTree by Hilton signals to both leisure and business travelers that they will enjoy special comforts and acts of kindness that align perfectly with this relaxed lakeside location," said John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. "The DoubleTree by Hilton brand is well-known for its caring culture and the genuine warmth of our associates will resonate with our guests and be evident throughout the property, from guest rooms to meeting space."

DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport debuts spacious, contemporary accommodations that include replacing the former hotel's southwestern design with modern furnishings and design throughout guest rooms and public areas. All guest rooms offer views either of the adjacent lake or nearby mountains. A perfect destination for weddings, special events and meetings, the hotel offers 13,000 square feet of flexible event space, including a 3,948 square foot ballroom that can accommodate up to 500. The majority of the event spaces feature floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of the hotel's surroundings.

In addition to the hotel’s design updates, DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport also rolls out refreshed food and beverage offerings. Grill 114, the hotel’s spacious restaurant open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offers a delectable menu of upscale American cuisine featuring seasonal dishes with local southwest influences. The hotel’s cozy fireside lounge, Club 114, offers a more casual dining experience with light bites and a delicious beverage featuring a selection of popular local microbrews.

For guests seeking to relax and reenergize, the hotel offers an indoor pool, whirlpool and 24-hour complimentary fitness center. Guests are also invited to enjoy the hotel’s many outdoor leisure offerings, including a jogging path around the lake, putting green and all-sport court featuring basketball.

With its close proximity to the airport and a location just seven miles from downtown Salt Lake City, guests will enjoy easy access to major businesses and attractions, including Salt Palace Convention Center, Energy Solutions Arena and Great Salt Lake. Less than an hour away are 13 world-class ski resorts including Snowbird and Park City Mountain Resort.

"With its refreshed design and convenient location to key businesses and leisure attractions, DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport is perfectly-suited to meet the needs of guests seeking upscale, full-service accommodations and amenities," said James Courtney, general manager, DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport.

Among the DoubleTree by Hilton brand exclusives that guests will enjoy are the Wake Up DoubleTree Breakfast, an assortment of gourmet in-room tea and coffee offerings from The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® and a refreshing array of CITRON body care products by Crabtree & Evelyn. All rooms offer upgraded amenities and the DoubleTree by Hilton Sweet Dreams Sleep Experience. Additional hotel amenities include a complimentary 24-hour business center and complimentary internet access throughout the hotel's guest rooms and public spaces.

As a participant in the Hilton HHonors guest loyalty program, the hotel will continue to offer guests the ability to earn and redeem points for stays. Diamond HHonors members will receive 1,000 bonus points and free breakfast during stays, and Gold HHonors members will have the option of receiving either 1,000 bonus points or a complimentary continental breakfast during their stay.

To mark the opening, DoubleTree by Hilton Salt Lake City Airport will offer double HHonors points on the best available rate for stays completed December 1, 2013 - February 28, 2014.
