Two Children's Music Businesses Create a Musical Journey for Youngsters

Two Solihull children's music businesses are working closely together to enable youngsters to enjoy the benefits of music from babies up to the age of 12.

Solihull, West Midlands (PRWEB UK) 27 November 2013 - Two local children's music organisations have teamed up to create even more opportunities for young children to develop their musical skills.

Rhythm Time and The Strings Club, both based in Solihull, are working together to ensure that youngsters can enjoy music from birth right up to the age of 12.

Rhythm Time, established in 1995 by local musician and teacher, Kathy Doolan, provides multi-sensory and educational music classes to babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers. Now, a national organisation with franchises throughout the country, Rhythm Time's children's music courses were created to enhance a young child's development by using music to stimulate every part of their brain.

The Strings Club, founded by violinist and tutor Amy Cunningham, was also created to motivate and inspire children to enjoy playing music with others. “'For me, musical learning should be a positive and enlightening experience for children,” she quotes. This year, The Strings Club were delighted to be awarded Nectar 'Start Up Business of the Year', nominated by a panel of judges including star of BBC 1's 'The Apprentice' Karren Brady.

Both founders passionately agree that enjoying music and learning to play within a group develops many abilities including language and literacy skills, social and emotional development, mathematics, as well as confidence and social skills.

“This is a genuinely valuable relationship,” quotes Kathy. “We are two professional and award-winning children's music organisations working together to instil and develop a love of music in young children. Rhythm Time establishes a firm musical foundation, which means that when they move on to play an instrument, they will find it so much easier. The Strings Club is a natural progression for our children once they leave us at the age of four. We like to think of it as their Musical Journey,” she adds.

The Strings Club offers tuition in violin, cello, guitar or ukulele, and courses are aimed at complete beginners up to intermediate & advanced ensembles. Classes are available in the West Midlands and London. For details, contact 07799 332562 or visit thestringsclub.org

Rhythm Time offers music classes to babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers throughout the UK. For more information and a complimentary session, contact 0121 711 4224 or visit rhythmtime.net/pr. Rhythm Time music franchise opportunities are also available throughout the UK.

About Rhythm Time

Rhythm Time was started in Solihull in 1995 by Kathy Doolan (Graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and previously Head of Music at a Scottish school). Kathy is a firm believer in the power and importance of music for babies, toddlers and pre-school children.

Kathy created three age-appropriate music programmes for babies (birth to 14 months), toddlers (15 months to three years) and pre-schoolers (three to school age). Children enjoy an early introduction to music and all classes are in line with the Early Learning Goals and Key Stage 1.

The Strings Club was founded by Amy Cunningham, graduate of the University of London. Violinist and tutor, Amy (BMus, MMus) has been leading educational projects across the UK and holds vast experience in teaching Violin & Cello. Amy's passion is for teaching and performing in various strings ensembles as well as a session Violinist.

With a masters in Ethnomusicology (Goldsmiths College), Amy also has a real interest for music education and wants to share her love of music and performing with the new generation of budding string players.

Her award-winning term-time courses, holiday camps & school sessions offer children aged 4 to 12 fun-filled instrumental tuition of the highest quality.

Last year, Rhythm Time also won a number of awards across the UK for 'favourite pre-school classes' from the top parenting site, Netmums. They also won the 'Franchise of the Year' award from mumandworking.co.uk in 2011.
