Former Card Connection Merchandiser Buys Carlisle & Lancaster Franchise

December 04, 2013 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher, Card Connection has today announced that former Card Connection merchandiser Bryan Jones and his wife Sheila have purchased the Carlisle and Lancaster franchise territory. The couple will now supply around 120 retail outlets in the region, from Card Connection’s range of more than 1,200 quality greeting cards and accessories.

"We have known the former franchisees for Card Connection’s Carlisle and Lancaster territory – Colin and Julie Margison – for many years and when they talked about selling we were very interested," explains Bryan Jones. "I had previously worked a day per week for Colin doing some of the delivery and merchandising of the greeting cards in-store, so understood how the franchise worked. I also knew the business had been well run over the 19 years Colin and Julie owned it and believed this could be a great opportunity."

Previously, Bryan Jones ran his own graphic design and wedding photography business for many years. "I have always enjoyed dealing with customers and am looking forward to building relationships with my new retail clients," he explains. "I have also lived and worked in the area for 30 years so know it like the ‘back of my hand’. This knowledge will be helpful as there is a fair amount of travelling required to visit stores across the territory.

"We recently completed our training at head office and although there is a lot to learn the Card Connection team were really helpful and I know they will always be on the end of the phone if we need help," continues Bryan. "We are really excited about taking on the franchise and our new future with Card Connection!"
