Right at Home Spearheads Growth in Alberta: Two Offices to Open in Calgary

Home Health Care Provider Plans to Add 12 Total Units to Serve Alberta’s Aging Population

BURLINGTON, Ontario - December 09, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - As a response to a dramatic rise in Alberta’s aging population, Right at Home, a leading home health care and wellness company, is bringing a brand new care solution to Calgary, with plans to expand throughout the province. The senior health care provider will spearhead its growth with two new offices in Calgary before eventually opening 10 more offices across Alberta, which will provide 1,200 jobs.

According to Alberta Health, 103 Albertans reach the age of 65 each day. By 2031, when the last of the baby boomers will reach 65 years of age, it is projected that there will be more than 923,000 seniors – one in five Albertans. In light of these figures, a poll by the Canadian Medical Association found that 93 per cent of those surveyed want a national strategy for seniors’ health care, with a focus on in-home services.
