The Meat House Hosts Food Drive for Hope & Help Center of Central Florida

Winter Park butcher supports Hope & Help Center with food drive December 2nd – 22nd

December 09, 2013 // Franchising.com // WINTER PARK, Fla. – The small town butcher shop known as The Meat House, where your meat is cut to order and the butcher knows your name, is hosting a three week food drive to support the Hope & Help Center help fight and end HIV/AIDS in Central Florida.

Bringing the community together for a cause that affects millions, The Meat House of Winter Park hopes to collect as much food as possible in order to provide meals for those who may not be able to afford to eat because of medical bills, payments, and treatment. Many of those impacted by the disease are the families of those diagnosed. As a result, 47% of those who are fed by the Hope & Help Center are children, 20% are over the age of 65, and 33% are households with at least one working adult.

"Year-round, the Hope & Help Center does tremendous work to provide relief and improve the lives of those affected by the devastation of HIV/AIDS," said Jenna Doulong, Marketing Coordinator for The Meat House in Winter Park. "With the generosity of our customers and communities, we are happy to be able to provide meals and food for the holidays to those who may not otherwise be able to afford it."

In addition to collecting food from the community during the three week drive, The Meat House will be donating their own products to the Hope & Help Center, including everything needed to make a holiday meal – from ground beef to cornbread stuffing. Gift cards can also be purchased as a donation.

The Meat House, known as the modern revival of your neighborhood butcher, not only offers a wide selection of expertly butchered premium meats, poultry, fish, veal, lamb, pork, but also offers prepared proteins, fine cheeses, fresh produce, hearty breads, prepared side dishes, Boar's Head Brand deli products, and a wide selection of beer and wine from around the world.

The Meat House currently has 27 store locations in 10 states – California, Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and New Jersey – with additional locations opening throughout 2014.
