Healthy Acai Bowl Concept Poised for Major Expansion

Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, December 12, 2013 – Bowl of Heaven, the CA-based concept featuring healthy acai bowls and fresh blended smoothies, just signed a 3-unit franchise deal for Northern California. Uniquely positioned in the growing health conscious fast casual segment, Bowl of Heaven is ramping up franchise expansion with the help of partner Fransmart.

JMD Management, the brand’s new multi-unit franchisee, is an enterprise focused on healthy foods. While the hi-tech industry background of its founders is typical of the region, they see a growing awareness and need for healthy but tasty alternatives to fast food. They want to bring the benefits of super-foods like Maqui berry, Acai, Gac fruit and more from around the world in a delicious yet healthy form to the Tri-Valley neighborhood.

The franchisees are currently looking for real estate for their first location in either Dublin, CA or Pleasanton, CA. Once the first store is open, they plan to focus on developing two more stores north of there, most likely either in San Ramon, Danville or Walnut Creek.

As Bowl of Heaven continues to franchise their unique concept, they are creating a solid footprint throughout various regions of California, as this deal comes on the heels of a 5-unit deal for Santa Clara County.

The new franchisees said of the concept, “We were really blown away by the idea of being able to serve up multiple nutrients, anti-oxidants, protein, fibers and, most importantly, taste in a made-to-order ‘bowl of heaven’. We think that the strength of the brand is the range of segments that it targets – healthy meal replacements, healthy desserts, healthy casual snacks – and the various benefits it makes available to consumers of all age groups.

Through a partnership with Fransmart, the franchise development company behind the explosive growth of brands such as Five Guys Burgers and Fries and Qdoba Mexican Grill, Bowl of Heaven is planning strategic expansion into select domestic and international markets.
