Ms. Schmidt's practice is focused on executive compensation, employee benefits and ERISA. She advises clients on defined benefit and defined contribution plan compliance, including corrections for plan operational errors through the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System and the U.S. Department of Labor Voluntary Fiduciary Correction Program (VFCP) correction programs.

While attaining her LL.M. in Employee Benefits at The John Marshall Law School, Ms. Schmidt worked for the U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration, where she focused on fiduciary correction matters, and was responsible for auditing VFCP applications. She earned her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School and her B.A. from Hamilton College. Ms. Schmidt is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
