O’Charley’s Donates Pies to Military for the Holidays

Restaurant says "thank you" to nation’s service members and their families with donations of O’Charley’s award-winning pies

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - December 18, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - O’Charley’s restaurants is honoring local military this holiday season by sending a donation of the restaurant’s award-winning pies to military bases and organizations in Tennessee, Florida, Kentucky and Alabama. These military bases, stations and organizations will receive whole pies to distribute and share among servicemen and women and their families celebrating the holidays. The donations come as part of O’Charley’s ongoing efforts to support and honor service members and their families.

"We are so thankful for the service of our nation’s military and the sacrifices these soldiers and their families make every day," said Mickey Mills, President of O’Charley’s. "We are truly honored to donate quality, award-winning pies to our servicemen and women this holiday season to say a sincere thank you and let them know O’Charley’s is thinking about them. Soldiers, staff members and military families based at the following locations will enjoy O’Charley’s whole pies as a part of various holiday celebrations, luncheons and food drives they are holding. Each location will receive up to 40 O’Charley’s pies.

  • 489th Civil Affairs Battalion – Knoxville, Tenn.
  • Greater Jacksonville Area USO at Mayport Center – Atlantic Beach, Fla.
  • Fort Campbell USO – Fort Campbell, Ky.
  • Fort Campbell Fisher House – Fort Campbell, Ky.
  • McGee Tyson Air National Guard Base – Knoxville, Tenn.
  • Navy Operations Support Center – Knoxville, Tenn.
  • Redstone Arsenal – Huntsville, Ala.

O’Charley’s restaurants bake fruit pies and freshly prepare their own whipping cream in-house every day. Guests may enjoy a slice in the restaurant or take home a whole pie for the holidays from their local O’Charley’s restaurant.

O’Charley’s has recognized more than 50 veterans and active-duty service members since April 2013 through the restaurant’s Hometown Hero program. O’Charley’s also supports Operation Gratitude, a non-profit organization that sends care packages to individually named U.S. service members in hostile regions overseas.
