Bowl of Heaven adds Dragon fruit and Prickly Pear to Growing List of Super-Food Ingredients

December 19, 2013 // Franchising.com // Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – Bowl of Heaven is bringing on two new amazing super fruits – Pitaya or ‘Dragon’ fruit from Nicaragua and Prickly Pear, both uniquely from cacti - to be rolled out with the introduction of the Paradise Bowl to the menu.

Pitaya is a fruit that was first discovered in Central America and has traveled to all corners of the globe. Early missionaries brought it to Asia where it has since been renamed and is more commonly known as Dragon Fruit. This amazing ingredient is famously known as a natural fiber-rich digestive aid that is packed with antioxidants and Omega-3s but low in sugar. It is also a good source of Vitamin C, calcium and magnesium. Bowl of Heaven’s suppliers will be sourcing theirs directly from Central American farmers, where all the best pitaya fruits are found.
