Lee’s Sandwiches Raises $55,180.88 for Philippines Typhoon Relief

January 02, 2014 // Franchising.com // GARDEN GROVE, Calif. - In response to Typhoon Haiyan which struck the Philippines in November, the restaurant chain known for its signature "banh-mi" Euro-Asian sandwiches displayed 5-gallon jars for the past month throughout its stores to collect donations for disaster relief. Last weekend at the Lee's Sandwiches Brookhurst location, the donations were collected and after nearly 4 hours of counting every penny and dollar of donations, the total came out to of $25,180.88. Lee's Sandwiches matched an additional $30,000 for a grand total amount of $55,180.88, which will be donated to the American Red Cross in assisting victims with water, food, clothes and equipment.

In addition to the jar donations and its match, Lee's Sandwiches also sponsored the Philippines Disaster-Relief concert at Grand Century in San Jose, CA on Dec 7th, 2013, the Viet Love for Philippines concert held on December 15th in Fountain Valley, CA and the Walk Jog Run in Orange County. Over $2,500 was raised at these events by selling sandwiches, coffee, and water.
