iLoveKickboxing.com studio in Florida held a fundraiser where members performed moves learned at the studio for Philippine Relief.
Plantation, FL (PRWEB) January 03, 2014 - In an effort to raise money for Philippine Relief, the iLoveKickboxing.com fitness franchise of Plantation, Florida hosted a Kick-a-thon and Spar-a-thon. The event took place on December 7th and brought all the kickboxing members of the Plantation studio to "fight" for a good cause.
The event called for members of the kickboxing studio to perform any move of their choice that they had learned in the studio's kickboxing classes. Many members went with throwing a number of kicks that ranged from roundhouses to front kicks while others chose to go a few rounds of either free form fighting (better known as sparring) or grappling (mostly associated with wrestling). All kinds of members and their family members showed up to participate, even kids as young as five years old.
"It was great to come together as a team, do something that we all love, and raise money for a good cause." Said owner John Wai.
The powerful tropical storm Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines in early November. Also known as Typhoon Yolanda, the storm is the deadliest for the Philippines. The studio was able to raise $2,000 dollars for Philippine Relief and was donated to the American Red Cross.
