Kids 'R' Kids® Learning Academies Sing the Praises of Sunshine on a Ranney Day
Nationally Accredited Early Education Franchise Shows Support for Local Non-Profit Organization with Donation Check for $50,000 from its Corporate Office and Franchisees
January 21, 2014 // Franchising.com // Atlanta – In an unexpected twist during the 2013 Georgia Child Care Association (GCCA) Annual Membership Meeting, nationally accredited early education franchise – Kids 'R' Kids® Learning Academies – spread a little sunshine of its own to a worthy local non-profit. In addition to the board of directors and members of the Georgia Child Care Association, in attendance at the December 5 meeting were Tripp Halstead, his family and Valerie Alino of Sunshine on a Ranney Day.
Three-year-old Tripp Halstead was first thrust into the public spotlight after being struck by a fallen limb on a playground in October 2012. His parents faithfully chronicle their journey through his traumatic brain injury in regular posts on social media. Tripp's plight not only attracted the attention of the GCCA – which initiated a "Skip for Tripp" fundraiser at child care centers throughout Georgia to raise funds to help offset the cost of the Halsteads' medical bills; it also caught the imagination of Peter and Holly Ranney – whose non-profit organization creates dream room makeovers for children facing long-term illnesses. After seeing the incredible transformations Sunshine on a Ranney Day produced for Tripp and several other children in Georgia, the founding family behind Kids 'R' Kids Learning Academies was inspired to give back.
"We were absolutely overwhelmed by the vision, talent and selflessness of Holly and Peter Ranney," recalled David Vinson, Director of Operations for Georgia-based Kids 'R' Kids. "They have found a very special way to shine a little much-needed light in the lives of families who are facing incredible challenges. Like them, we care deeply about the children we serve and felt compelled to help fund their very important work."
In a show of support, Kids 'R' Kids founders Pat and Janice Vinson presented Sunshine on a Ranney Day with a check for $50,000 on behalf of their corporate office and franchisees. The donation will help offset construction costs and supplies for upcoming renovation projects. Individuals and corporations who wish to follow the example set by Kids 'R' Kids can make a secure online donation to Sunshine on a Ranney Day at www.sunshineonaranneyday.com. Corporate partnerships are also available, and volunteers to assist with renovation projects are always needed and appreciated.
