New Franchisees Recommended to Card Connection

January 21, 2014 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher, Card Connection has today announced that Peter and Sharon Smith have joined Card Connection as new franchisees for Macclesfield and Buxton. The couple will now supply quality greeting cards and accessories from Card Connection’s extensive range of around 1,200 products to more than 130 retailers in in the region.

"I have worked in the printing and publishing trade for many years," explains Peter Smith. "However, when the printing company I worked for went into administration after 52 years in business earlier this year and I was made redundant, I started making enquiries. My wife Sharon and I are friends with Card Connection’s franchisees for Cornwall, David and Marie Clements, and they recommended the franchise to us.

"Card Connection’s team seemed very professional and provide lots of back-up so after some detailed investigation and discussion we decided to go for it and buy the franchise," continues Peter. "I like the pedigree of UK Greetings and American Greetings – Card Connection’s parent company -and with my experience of print; I recognise the quality and variety of the products. With 6-7 new greeting card designs being produced every week there will always be something for everyone. I anticipate this will really help when talking to new retail customers as you can always show them something new.

"Sharon who has been a mobile hairdresser for 30 years enjoyed her job, but felt like it was time for a change too," continues Peter. "Sharon is excellent with the public and my corporate background should provide a good combination. We are excited about going into business together and looking forward to a new challenge for the New Year!"
