Carl's Jr. Snickerdoodles the Ice Cream Sandwich

New Cinnamon-Sugar Cookie Dessert Launches Today at Participating Carl's Jr. Locations

January 29, 2014 // Franchising.com // CARPINTERIA, Calif. – Snickerdoodle. A funny word, a crazy good cookie. Some say the word "snickerdoodle" originally derived from the German word "schneckennudeln" – a kind of pastry. Whatever its past, its immediate future lies in hand-scooped vanilla ice cream – and on the Carl's Jr.® dessert menu. Featuring a scoop of premium vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two soft and delicious sugar and cinnamon-sprinkled snickerdoodle cookies, the Hand-Scooped Snickerdoodle Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich launches today at participating Carl's Jr. locations.

"Unlike almost every other hamburger chain in the country, Carl's Jr. brings in hard-packed tubs of ice cream to make its Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Shakes and Malts™, but that also allows us to be able to make some amazing Hand-Scooped Ice Cream Sandwich creations," said Brad Haley, chief marketing officer of Carl's Jr. "From the Oreo Cookie to the Chocolate Chip Cookie to the internet sensation Strawberry Pop-Tart Ice Cream Sandwiches, our Menu Development team has had a lot of fun trying new sweet treat combinations. After sampling many new potential candidates, including some, frankly, rather bizarre ones, we all fell in love with the taste of snickerdoodle cookies and ice cream. The sweetness of the soft, sugar and cinnamon dusted cookies pairs perfectly with the creaminess of the vanilla ice cream. It's an ice cream sandwich that's as yummy to eat as it is fun to say."

For a limited time, guests can receive a free Hand-Scooped Snickerdoodle Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich with the purchase of any Philly Cheesesteak Burger combo at participating Carl's Jr. restaurants. The dessert treat may also be ordered separately for $1.49. Prices may vary by location.
