Roetzel's Anne Prenner Schmidt Presents at the American Bar Association's Midyear Meeting in Chicago

February 10, 2014 // Franchising.com // On February 7, 2014, Roetzel & Andress attorney Anne Prenner Schmidt spoke at a gathering of the Young Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association at its midyear meeting in Chicago, Illinois. Ms. Prenner Schmidt, a member of the firm's Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits & ERISA teams, was a member of a panel that presented on, "POST WINDSOR – NOW WHAT? The Effect of United States v. Windsor," as a part of a continuing legal education segment on "DOMA Overruled: Implications for Health Care Plans and Other Employee Benefits."

"Anne's participation in the ABA's midyear meeting aligns with the firm's ongoing role in keeping both peers in the legal profession and our clients apprised of the new developments and trends in the areas of employee benefits, executive compensation and ERISA," said Roetzel partner David C. Strosnider, the firm's primary point of contact for executive compensation, employee benefits and ERISA matters in the Chicago area. "We are very proud that Anne has already been requested to speak in this very complex legal area at such an early stage in her career."

Ms. Prenner Schmidt focuses her practice on executive compensation, employee benefits and ERISA. She advises clients on defined benefit and defined contribution plan compliance, and has extensive experience with a variety of issues relating to these types of ERISA plans, including plan design and drafting, preparing determination letter applications, SPDs, amendments, and plan administrative procedures, plan operation, and other related compliance requirements. She earned her J.D., followed by her LL.M. in Employee Benefits, from The John Marshall Law School and her B.A. from Hamilton College.
