Wegener Adds Depth to Faegre Baker Daniels' Food Regulatory and Litigation Practice

February 14, 2014 // Franchising.com // Minneapolis - Richard Wegener has joined Faegre Baker Daniels as counsel for the firm's nationally ranked food regulatory and litigation practice. This practice is supported by the firm's national food and agriculture industry group that includes more than 150 lawyers across our office locations. Most recently a shareholder at Fredrickson & Byron, P.A., Wegener is nationally known for his work in regulatory affairs, antitrust and trade regulation—particularly in the food, beverage and agricultural markets. He regularly speaks and writes for national events and publications. He will practice out of the firm's Minneapolis office.

Wegener's past corporate positions include Division Counsel U.S. Foods Group for The Pillsbury Company (now General Mills). He has more than 30 years of legal experience with a successful track record of representation on regulatory and antitrust matters. His current legal representation and advisory work encompasses counsel on compliance and legal issues surrounding the Food Safety and Modernization Act including interactions with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC). In addition to regulatory and antitrust matters, Wegener has experience in product marketing and distribution, pricing, acquisitions, licensing and intellectual property.
