Local Ice Cream Store Earns Top Sales Companywide

Sub Zero Ice Cream in Federal Way, Wash. received the highest sales numbers in 2013.

Sub Zero's success is due largely to the dedication of owner, Jack Walsh, as well as the constant support of the local customers.

Since opening in 2011, Sub Zero Federal Way has increased sales by 40 percent each year, which accounts for their top placement in the company. Walsh and his partners saw the potential of franchising with Sub Zero from the beginning. Dedication to the store and active involvement in the community is the key to their long-term success.

"Introducing our education program to school students is one of the best parts of my job," Walsh said. "The kids get so excited to learn about the elements, the phases of matter and how science applies to nearly everything in our lives-not to mention the delicious treat they get at the end of the presentation."

In addition to in-store sales, a significant portion of Sub Zero's sales revenue came from catering corporate events, weddings, birthday parties and other celebrations. Sub Zero is unique in being able to actually freeze the ice cream on site for each guest.

Moving forward, Sub Zero Ice Cream & Yogurt anticipates much success throughout the U.S. and in several new countries that open this year. "As franchise area developers we are especially happy to have a Sub Zero opening in Puyallup," Walsh said.
