Starwood to Debut Westin Hotels in Egypt with the New Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes

Set to Open Early in 2015, the Resort will Offer Golf Enthusiasts, Leisure and Business Travelers a Tranquil Retreat Steeped in Wellness in New Cairo District

CAIRO - February 21, 2014 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE:HOT) today announced that it will soon introduce the Westin brand to Egypt with the opening of The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes early next year. Owned by New Cairo for Real Estate Investment Company SAE, the 128-room resort will be ideally located within the Katameya Dunes development, a 1.8 million square meter luxury residential compound in the New Cairo City District.

The Westin Cairo Golf Resort & Spa Katameya Dunes will be located within a prestigious and exclusive residential community with a 27-hole championship golf course designed by Nick Faldo & Brian Curley of Texas, USA and will be the development’s flagship resort. The hotel will offer golf enthusiasts, business and leisure travelers a tranquil retreat that is steeped in wellness and just 20 minutes from Cairo International Airport.

Situated in a breath-taking landscaped enclave, The Westin Cairo will offer 127 beautifully-appointed guest rooms and one presidential suite, all featuring the latest in-room technology as well as the renowned Westin Heavenly Bed®, Heavenly Bath®, Heavenly® Shower, Heavenly® Robe and exclusive White Tea Aloe bath amenities. The Westin Cairo Hotel & Spa will also offer four dining venues, including an all-day dining restaurant, a café, a bar and a lounge.
